Located several miles offshore in the North Sea, Sealand is one of the most unusual landmarks visible from the Suffolk coast. Originally built as a wartime sea fort, the structure later became known internationally as the self-proclaimed Principality of Sealand and has attracted global attention for its unique history and status.
Standing alone above the sea, Sealand has become a symbol of independence, curiosity and maritime heritage. Its isolated position and distinctive appearance continue to fascinate visitors, historians and photographers alike.
Although inaccessible to most visitors, the platform remains visible from offshore routes and favourable viewpoints along the coast. As part of Felixstowe360, Sealand provides a fascinating reminder that some of the most remarkable stories connected to Suffolk lie far beyond the shoreline. Additional photography and historical information will continue to be added.
