C15 | golf club & martello tower

The Martello Tower and Felixstowe Golf Club occupy a distinctive position overlooking the coast and estuary. Together they represent two very different chapters of local history, combining military heritage with one of the oldest golf clubs in England.

The Martello Tower was built as part of a chain of coastal defences designed to protect Britain during the Napoleonic era. Today it remains an important landmark and reminder of the strategic importance of the coastline.

Surrounding the tower, the golf course enjoys spectacular views across the sea, estuary and surrounding landscape. The elevated position provides a unique perspective on the wider Felixstowe area while maintaining a strong connection with the coast. Additional panoramas, photography and historical information will continue to be added as Felixstowe360 develops.
