KINGSFLEET & THE RIVER DEBEN
C18 | THE KINGSFLEET & THE DEBEN ESTUARY
Kingsfleet overlooks one of the most beautiful estuarine landscapes in Suffolk. Positioned where the River Deben approaches the sea, the area is characterised by open skies, changing tides and an abundance of wildlife.
The surrounding salt marshes and mudflats provide important habitats for birds and other species, making the estuary a popular destination for nature lovers and photographers throughout the year. The landscape changes constantly as the tide rises and falls, creating a different experience with every visit.
As the final stop on the Felixstowe360 Coastal Route, Kingsfleet offers a peaceful conclusion to the journey along the coast while opening the door to wider exploration of the Deben Estuary and surrounding countryside. Additional panoramas, photography and local stories will continue to be added as Felixstowe360 develops.
