LANGUARD FORT
C2 | languard fort & languard point
From Languard Point it is possible to watch ships entering and leaving one of Britain’s busiest harbours while looking across to Harwich and the Essex coastline. The area is also well known for birdlife and forms part of an internationally important nature reserve, attracting visitors throughout the year.
The fort itself tells the story of coastal defence from the Tudor period through to the twentieth century, while the surrounding shoreline provides a unique perspective on both the sea and the port.
As Felixstowe360 grows, additional panoramas, photographs, historical information and local stories will be added to help bring the site and its history to life.
